How to configure or change the Google Organization Unit (OU) Structure in Aeries

  1. Access the Organization Unit Structure Tab

    • Navigate to Google Apps Integration page in Aeries.
    • Click on Organization Unit Structure
  2. Configure Desired nested Levels

    • Up to three levels can be configured underneath the Student Root Org Unit.
    • Each level can be configured to use a certain placeholder element, which will dynamically be replaced with values from the Aeries database during the sync process.
    • For example, using [grade-level] will use the description of the student’s current grade level, such as “Transitional Kindergarten” or “Ninth Grade”.



  3. Save Changes


Syncing and Managing Org Units:

  • Students will be added to the current directory structure.
  • Org Units will automatically be created based on the chosen structure if they do not exist as students sync from Aeries to Google
  •  Aeries does NOT delete Org Units. If the org unit structure is changed, any unused Org Units will need to be deleted manually via the Google Admin Console.
