The Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns page in Aeries Payments enables district and school staff, as well as teachers, to link their fundraising campaigns by district, school, section, or teacher. Once connected, these campaigns are visible to parents in the Parent Portal, providing a streamlined and transparent fundraising experience.

Note: This article applies only to Districts who have Destiny Fundraising Manager Payments integration.

The Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns page is located under Aeries Payment > Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns and is accessible at both the district or school levels.

District Setting

The District Setting "Use Payment (Instead of Fees and Fines)" must be enabled to use this feature.

Portal Options

To access the Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns page, the following conditions must be met:

  • The school must have the portal option “Show Campaign Advertisements in Parent Portal” enabled.
  • After enabling this option, users must log out and log back in for the Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns page to become available in the navigation.
  • This feature is only accessible if the district setting “Use Payments (Instead of Fees and Fines)” is also enabled.

Using the Campaigns Page

At the district level, the Destiny Fundraising Manager Campaigns page allows users to connect campaigns for the district and for any school that has the portal option “Show Campaign Advertisements in Parent Portal” enabled.

When logged in at the School level, the School Campaigns will display if the school has the Portal Option "Show Campaigns Advertisements in Parent Portal" enabled.

Logged in As Teacher

If the logged in school's portal option "Show campaigns advertisements in parent portal" is enabled and the teacher has the proper permissions, the teacher will see the following:
  • Schools with MST:  For schools using a master schedule each section the teacher is assigned to will be available to connect campaigns to.
  • Elementary w/o MST: For schools not using a master schedule one section for teacher will be available to connect campaigns to.

Schools with MST:

Elementary w/o MST:

No Content
In scenarios where campaigns cannot be connected via section, teacher, or school a message will appear indicating

one of the following:

  • The portal option “Show Campaign Advertisements in Parent Portal” is not enabled for the school.
  • If the user has permission to update portal options, the message will prompt them to enable the setting.

Add Campaign

The Add Campaign button appears:

  • At the top of each section or school.
  • Once per elementary teacher, if applicable.

Clicking this button hides currently connected campaigns and displays a filter box. Campaigns that are not already connected will be shown and can be filtered and selected.

  • The filtering uses fuzzy search, meaning the search term does not need to be exact but should be reasonably close.
  • A maximum of 300 results will be displayed.

Campaigns stored in the FTS table (student campaigns created through Aeries) are excluded from this search.

Once you’ve filtered and selected the desired campaign(s), click Save Selected Campaigns to finalize the connection. This action will link the selected campaign(s) to the appropriate section, school, or teacher, depending on your current view.

Campaign Visibility in the Parent Portal

Campaigns connected at the district or school level will appear in the Parent Portal for all students to whom they apply. Each campaign will display alongside a picture of the student, and when a parent hovers over the image, a tooltip will appear with the text: “Applies to: your student.”

All campaigns that apply to a student of the logged-in parent will be shown, regardless of which school the parent is currently viewing, as long as the school has the campaign visibility feature enabled.

Example:

A parent viewing their student at Golden Eagle Elementary will also see campaigns for that student from Screaming Eagle, if both schools have the portal option enabled.

In the Parent Portal, this may appear as:

  • Two campaigns from Screaming Eagle
  • One class-specific campaign

Each campaign is shown with the student’s photo to indicate who it applies to.

Campaign Display Behavior

  • If there are more than three campaigns, the fourth will appear as a link.
  • The order of display is randomized with each login.
  • However, campaigns that apply to the parent’s student will always appear first.
  • In the example provided, a district-level campaign appears last.

How the Campaigns will display:

  1. The first three campaigns are displayed in a large card format, with the pictures of student's associated with that parent and that campaign (by class, teacher, or section) in the bottom right corner of the card.
  2. The first campaigns always pertain to the selected student if any campaign pertains to the current student.
  3. All campaigns display in randomized order first a randomized group of ones pertaining to the current student, followed by randomized campaigns pertaining to any student associated to the parent.
  4. Any campaign after the 3rd will be displayed as a smaller link.
  5. Clicking on a campaign link or campaign card will open a new tab with the full details of the campaign on Destiny Fundraising Manager.
  6. If a campaign does not have an image a generic .png file will be used with the Destiny Fundraising Manager company logo.
  7. When $0 has been raised a campaign will only display the total target amount.
  8. On smaller screens campaign $ amounts will not display to save screen space.
  9. Student pictures have hover text "Applies to: [Student First Name]"
  10. The widget chevron can be used for parents to minimize the campaigns.  This saves to Parent Account Options (PAO) so that their choice will be retained upon future logins.

Deleting Campaigns
  • Hovering over a campaign will reveal a trash icon, but only for users with Delete permission on the Campaign Advertisement Connections (CAC) table.
  • Clicking the trash icon will prompt a confirmation message.
  • Selecting OK will delete the associated CAC record, removing the campaign connection.

The CAC table stores the information about Campaign Connections. This feature also uses the DistrictCache.
