Secondary Standards Based Grades uses the following tables in Aeries:

  • GRD – Grades

  • GRO – Grade Reporting Options

  • GRS – Secondary Standards Based Grades (Query Only)

  • SBR – Standards-Courses (Query Only)

  • SBV – Standards Based Valid Marks

  • STN – Standards

  • COD – Codes

  • RCH – Report Card History

The GRS and SBR security areas are query only. Entering standard grades is controlled by permissions to Grades (GRD), and linking standards to courses is controlled by permissions to Course Data (CRS).

Users that are setting up both the Standards Based Grades for Secondary Schools and the secondary report card will need full (Read, Insert, Update and Delete) permission to: Course Data, Grade Reporting Options, and Standards Based Valid Marks. Insert and /or Update permissions are also needed to Standards (STN) to add new standards or edit existing Standards. Update permission to Codes (COD) is needed to change Mark Type descriptions and translations. To push the Secondary SBG options to other schools, users need Administer permission to Grade Reporting Options and to Push and Pull Setup Tables.

To set up Secondary Report Cards/ initialize report cards for each grading term they will need full (Read, Insert, Update and Delete) permission to: Grades, Grade History, Grade Reporting Options, Grade Reporting Address Options and Mark Headings and Descriptions. The Initialize New Grade Reporting Cycle page itself requires Insert, Update, and Delete permission to Grades. Generating Report Card History from the Secondary Standards Based Grade Report Cards requires Update permission to Report Card History (RCH).

Please see the Security article for more detailed information on how to set up permissions for users and groups.

NOTE:  Editing an existing standard will impact standards already in use.  Permissions to the Standards (STN) table should be limited to admin type users and be granted with caution.
