Overview

The Medications page provides a list of the student’s medications and allows the ability to add a new medication for a student.  Medication information is stored in the Medications (MLM) table. A Doses area allows you to log a given dose of the medication. Dose information is stored in the Medication Log (MLG) table. A report of the Medications information can be printed and has the options to include dose history and display current medications only.

Configurations

To Add a new Medication record, click on the Add Medication button. An Add Medication window will display. Enter all medication information and then click on the Save.

The Add and Edit Medication window has an At Home field. Checking this field is used to designate that a medication is one that is given at home.

The Add Medication window has an As Needed option. This option can be used to designate that a medication should be given As Needed and without any designated time. Selecting this option will disable the time fields as they do not apply to an As Needed medication.

The Add Medication window has a Save and Add button. This button can be used to save the current medication information that has been entered and will allow for a second medication to be added without having to exit the Add Medication window.

Once a medication has been entered and saved, the information will display on the Medication page for the student under the Active Medications tab.

If a Medication has an End Date that has passed, the medication for the student will display under the Inactive Medications tab on the Medications page. If a Medication is listed under the Inactive Medications tab, the Dose History can be viewed but the Administer Dose button will not be available.

The Medications page has a "Hide At Home Medications" option. Selecting this option will hide any medication designated as At Home from displaying on the student medication page. This option is remembered and once selected will remain selected until deselected by the user.

The Active Medications tab on the Medications page allows you to log a dose of a medication for a student.

To add a dose for a medication, click the mouse on the Administer Dose button.

The following box will display with options to Administer Dose, or to Skip Dose. To Administer a Dose click the mouse on the Administer Dose button.

If Administer Dose is selected, a dose for that student and medication will be logged and will display under the Dose History area.

Once a Dose has been logged for a medication, the Dose information can be edited by clicking into any field and modifying the data. After any changes are made, click the mouse on the Save Changes button.

A Medication dose can also be Skipped. To skip the dose, click the mouse on the Skip Dose button. An entry will be added under Dose History with a comment of "Dose Skipped"
