The "Click Here" option from the email verification leads to the error message: "Email verification failed" when trying to verify an Online Enrollment account
Cause
- The error message "Email Verification Failed" occurs due to an anti-spam filter. When the spam filter clicks on the verification link to determine if it is malicious, it verifies the email for the parent or guardian. However, that link is intended for one-time use only. As a result, when the parent or guardian tries to click the link again, it fails, leading to the "Email Verification Failed" message. Essentially, the scanner activates the account by clicking the link, so when it is clicked a second time, it results in failure.
Resolution
- Coordinate with any provider for spam or malicious email scanning to ensure that links from Online Enrollment are not clicked.
- To complete the registration process, the parent or guardian needs to return to the Online Enrollment page and log in using the credentials they created. It might be helpful to include this information on the Home page of Online Enrollment, as it could assist parents during the process.
