As of the 2024-2025 school year, TEA requires Texas districts to report data for students assigned to complete Accelerated Instruction due to unsatisfactory performance on an assessment instrument (STAAR state assessments).  TEA also requires LEAs to indicate the reason a student has not completed the assigned hours of Accelerated Instruction.


NOTE: This new data element is reported for PEIMS state reporting purposes only and will not be included in the TREx Student Record export file.


1.  Activities and Awards Page

  • On the Activities and Awards page, select +Add New Record


2. Enter the Accelerated Instruction Information for the Student

  • Enter the date of the Accelerated Instruction
  • From the Type field (ACT.TY) select 6 Accelerated Instruction

  • From the Code field (ACT.CD), select the appropriate subject code where Accelerated Instruction was provided.


Note:  All subjects for this element start with 'AI' in Aeries


  • From the Reason field (ACT.RS), select the appropriate Reason that pertains to the student

  • Enter Hours Assigned (ACT.HA) and Hours Completed (ACT.HR) for the student


3. If the Student has not completed all of the assigned hours of Accelerated Instruction

  • In the Hours Difference Reason field (ACT.HDR) select the code that applies to the student
