Question: Can a record of a School/District in Course History Institutions (CHI) be inactivated or updated to indicate that it is closed?

Answer: Records in the Course History Institutions (CHI) table cannot be inactivated. To maintain data integrity for historical records, we do not recommend deleting these records. Instead, we suggest renaming closed Schools/Districts in the Course History Institutions page to include “(CLOSED)” or another chosen indicator in the name. This way, staff can easily identify that the code should no longer be used, as the updated name will appear in the drop-down menu.
