What Language Fluency Code (STU.LF) should be used for preschool students?

The SELA extract is programmed to skip preschool records.  Students in preschool (grade level -2) can be designated as TBD. Based on a student's birth date, language fluency testing occurs when a student first enters Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten.  Using a TBD value for preschool students will assist with ELPAC testing during the summer for students matriculating to Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten.



During the SSID import, what are the English Language Acquisition Status Code (LAC.EAC) and English Language Acquisition Status Date (LAC.EAD) fields? How are they used?


These fields indicate a student's English Language Proficiency as last reported to CALPADS.   A student's EL designation follows the student and does not change when a student change schools or districts.


The LAC.EAC and LAC.EAD fields are read only fields that can be used to assist in the EL designation for students.  The query below can be used to assist in verifying this information:
