Aeries collects anonymous web traffic analytics within Aeries Web to help better understand how our software is used and ways we can improve it. The goal of collecting this data is to aid in research and design, and help create a better Aeries experience for all users.

For example, one function of anonymous analytics is to ensure the development of our most frequently-accessed areas of the software continue to be prioritized proportionally to how often they are used (that is to say, we want to focus our dev time on areas where you use Aeries most).

We respect the privacy of our customers and we're happy to clarify on any aspect of our analytical tracking and analysis. For those familiar with tools like Google Analytics, you might have a clearer understanding of what our secure and anonymous tracking system does, and how it does it. We use an in-house system that functions similarly to Google Analytics, but keeps collected information private and internal to Aeries only.

Again, we do not track any personally-identifiable information, and we are committed to the pledge of student privacy - https://studentprivacypledge.org/privacy-pledge/. With regards to performance, the tracking is implemented in such a way so as to not impact the Aeries Web experience at all.

Examples of information we do track when a user accesses Aeries Web:

  • How many times a particular page was accessed
  • The country a user is accessing Aeries Web from
  • What device type is being used (and information like the screen resolution)
  • Device operating system
  • The version number of Aeries

Examples of information we do not track:

  • Database information
  • Student data or information
  • Emails, usernames, identities
  • Dashboard data or results of reports being run
  • Hardware or server information

To view the comprehensive list of anonymous data we track, we invite you to contact our support team who can provide you with a document containing that information.
