General Information

For districts wishing to include the Career Technical Education (CTE) completion of a career pathway as part of the graduation requirements for certain students, they will find that many career pathway courses also need to have their credit included in other subject areas. This makes it difficult to create a Career Pathways Subject Area.

To solve this problem, Aeries now includes a simple Career Pathway Graduation Option for Career Pathway Completion. This can be flagged on specific Graduation Tracks.  When enabled and applied to students, the system will look to the Career Pathways (CPW) table to determine if a pathway has been completed. It will not use subject area requirements or credit evaluations.

When the new option has been turned on for a specific Graduation Track, a Career Pathways Status will display on the Graduation Status page.

The Career Pathways Status will also print on the Graduation Status report and the Transcript.

Security

Users who will be enabling the Career Pathways Requirement option, will need Update permissions to the Update Graduation Requirements Table in Security.

Graduation Requirements

The new option will display on the Graduation Requirements page. Access the Graduation Requirements page from the Secondary Grades Dashboard, under A. Setup/Config.

The new option will display in the upper right of the Graduation Requirements page labeled Career Pathway Requirement. The option can be flagged for specific Graduation Tracks or can be set on the default grad track.

The student's Graduation Track can be changed on the Graduation Status page under Student Data | Grades node on the navigation tree.

For more information on updating a student's Graduation Track, please refer to the Graduation Requirements documentation.

Career Pathways

When the Career Pathways Requirement option is enabled for a specific Graduation Track, the system will look to the student's Graduation Track (STU.GRT) and the Career Pathways (CPW) table to determine if a pathway has been completed. It will not use subject area requirements or credit evaluations.

If the Completed option is checked (CPW.CM), the student will display as Career Pathway Requirement Met on the Graduation Status page.

If the student does not have a Career Pathways record flagged as Completed, the student will display as Career Pathway Requirement Not Met on the Graduation Status page.

For more information on Career Pathways, please refer to the Career Pathways documentation.

Reports

The Career Pathways Status will also print on the Graduation Status report and the Transcript.

Parent/Student Portal

If the Parent and Student Portal Groups have access to the Transcripts area in Security, the Career Pathways Status will display on the Graduation Status page in the Portal.
