Question:

Can a grade level be excluded from Attendance Letters?

• Example: Can PS students be excluded when generating Site-Based Attendance Letters?

Answer:

A grade level cannot be excluded from Site-Based Attendance Letters if the same Attendance Codes are being used for all grade levels.  

Workaround:

• If different Attendance Codes are used for PS students (for example), these Attendance Codes can be excluded when selecting codes to be counted when letters are generated.

• Or, the user can set the Absent Letter Counter (STU.LT) to a high number so that the system bypasses the students. For example, if the counter is set to 9, and there are 3 Parts to the Absence Letter, the students will never get a letter generated.  This Query will set the PS students'  STU.LT field to 9. CHANGE STU LT TO 9 IF GR = -2
