Why are the Tardy and Truant Counts showing unexpected totals on the Student  Attendance Report?

The TRDY count on the Student Attendance Report will include any code that is coded as a Tardy Type of Attendance (excused or unexcused) on the Update Absence Code Table.

In the example below, Code L, E, and T are all coded as a Tardy Type of Attendance.  For the example student, that adds up to 9 as shown on the report instead of 3 from only the T code.

The TRU count is going to count all absence codes that represent Unexcused for more than 30 minutes, as those are counted as a Truant (TRU).
  • In the example student, this is counting 19 Unexcused Absences.  The "T-Truant>30" is not set as a Partial Day > 30 Minutes Truant, so it isn't including those in the count for Truant (TRU)
  • The "T-Truant>30" code needs to be set as Partial Day > 30 Minutes Truant to ensure that these types of absence codes are counted as Truant (TRU)
  • The student's count is going to be 22 for Truant (TRU) instead of just 3 for the Truant>30 code, once this absence code is coded correctly

This code should have the checkbox for Partial Day > 30 Minutes Truant so that it will count as Truant (TRU). Since this is a Tardy, it will count in the Tardy (TRDY) count as well on the report

This code is a Tardy type code and will count in the Tardy (TRDY) count on the report
