Can an Absence Code be inactivated?
There is not a way to inactivate an Absence Code.
If the Absence Code has not been used in the current year, it can be deleted from the Update Absence Code Table (ABS) page.
If the Absence Code has been used this year:
Best Practice: The District needs to wait until they have rolled over into the next year's database before deleting the code. Inform site attendance staff to stop using the code for the current year.
Alternative Option: Change the code for any students who have it in the current year to another code, then delete the absence code from the ABS table.
