Why don't the Attendance Dashboard totals match the Period Attendance Report totals?

The Attendance Dashboard is looking at All Day code absences and not Period Absences.  This is why the numbers will not match with a report based on Period Absences.  

Note:  The Attendance Dashboard will show Period Tardies, but not Period Absence totals
