How to code a student as Temporarily Not Enrolled without having to disenroll the student.
1. Create an Absence Code to use for student's that are Temporarily Not Enrolled (TNE)
- Add a Code, Description, Abbreviation, and Choose the Temporarily Not Enrolled option
2. Save the Record
3. Apply the TNE Code to the All Day Code for the student on the Attendance Page
Purpose: This code allows schools to mark students as "not enrolled" for specific days without inactivating their enrollment or using an unverified absence code, which could inaccurately categorize the student as truant. Impact: The number of days the student is considered enrolled will be reduced by the number of TNE Absence Codes the student has accrued. This will be reflected in the CALPADS STAS file.
NOTE: The Temporarily Not Enrolled (TNE) code may be used for students attending a Hospital/Health Facility Program or a Juvenile Court School, and for paternity leave. This code may be used for up to 30 days. For further guidance on when the TNE code may be used refer to CDE Flash 148 or contact the CDE.
