GRD - Why is a student missing from the list on the Grades by Teacher page?  


Cause

If a student should be listed for the teacher to issue a Grade and they are missing from the list, this is usually due to the when the Initialize New Grade Reporting Cycle process was run. When the Grading Cycle is initialized it pulls from the Classes page.  The Sections listed on the Classes page will determine if the student will display on the list for Grades by Teacher. If the Grading Cycle is initialized too early or before a student was added to a Section on the Classes page, that student will not display on the list.


Resolution - two options


  • Option 1: The Office Staff can manually add a line on the student's Grades page, and issue the grade for the Teacher


  • Option 2: If the teacher has not yet entered any Comments, Work Habits, or Citizenship (If already added, they will be wiped out and unable to be retrieved),  the function Update for One Section on the Initialize New Grade Reporting Cycle page may be used.  Utilizing this option will add the student to the Grades by Teacher page for the Section and the teacher can then issue a grade 


To avoid this issue, it is important not to make any scheduling changes until the Grading Cycle has been Initialized
