UC Davis Parent/Guardian Survey on the Use of College Readiness Information


The UC Davis School of Education Parent/Guardian survey on the Use of College Readiness Information is now available for districts who decide to participate in the survey study. If a district decides to participate in this study and enable the survey for parents, a link to the survey will display on the Home page in the parent portal. The survey link will be available to parents who have students in the 12th grade. The link will direct parents to the UC Davis survey website where parents can participate in a 3-minute survey sponsored by UC Davis.


Enabling the Parent Survey


Districts who decide to participate in the survey study will need to enable the survey for their district in order to activate the survey link. Once activated, the link will be visible to parents on the home page in the parent portal. The option to activate the UC Davis survey is located in the District record on the School Options page. 



The survey settings are located at the bottom of the District record. To enable the options, click the Change button at the bottom of the District Options page. 


The first option will enable the survey for the district and make the link visible to parents with 12th graders. The link will display on the Home page of the parent portal.


The first option also includes a link to the LEA Consent form for districts that decide to participate in the study.  The consent form can be downloaded by clicking on the blue LEA Consent Form link. The LEA consent form should be submitted to the Project Coordinator at UC Davis prior to enabling the survey for parents. Contact information for the UC Davis Project Coordinator is available on the consent form. 



The second option will allow the survey results to be linked to the student.  If this option is checked the SSID of 12th grade students associated with the parent account is sent along with the survey. If this option is not checked the survey results will be sent anonymously without any accompanying student SSID numbers. 



Parent Portal


Once the survey setting is enabled the survey will be available to parents with 12th grade students linked to their parent account. A notice inviting the parent to participate in the survey will be visible on the Home page of the parent portal


The displayed link will direct the parent to the UC Davis web page where the parent can participate in the survey. 



If the parent has logged into the parent portal in Spanish the notice will be displayed in Spanish to the parent. 



The survey will likewise be available in Spanish for the parent.
