Inactivating a standard mid way within the standard "tree", will break the access to the lower level sub-standards.  This will cause issues if the lower level sub-standards are still being used on the report card. In addition, standards could still be linked in Template Gradebooks, Courses, and Analytics Exams. Standards Based Grade records follow a student all through their high school career until they graduate. 

CAUTION must be applied when inactivating or deleting any Parent Standards and Sub-Standards.  Aeries recommends inactivating standards that are no longer being used.  If it's discovered that the standard is still being utilized within Aeries, the standard can be re-activated.
