There are two Gradebook Summary reports in the gradebook: Gradebook Summary (PDF and other formats) and Gradebook Summary Export to Excel. The Excel version supports a large number of assignments and always creates an Excel (XLSX) file, so its window has no Report Format drop-down. Both windows are titled Print Gradebook Summary.

To print a summary for a gradebook, click Reports on the gradebook menu bar, then click Gradebook Summary Export to Excel. The window opens with the gradebook you are working in already checked.

On the Gradebook(s) To Print tab, choose Print Summary By: Assignments (one column per assignment) or Categories (one column per category). Then check one or more gradebooks. Checking a gradebook shows its list of assignments, or its categories when Print Summary By is Categories. Sort Assignment in Selection Box By sorts the assignment list by Assignment Number or Due Date.

The Options tab sets the Report Title (defaults to "Gradebook Summary"), whether to Include Inactives, which student information to show (name, student number, phone or ID), the Student Sort (Student Name, Student Id or Overall Score), the Assignment Sort, and which columns to show (grade, point ratio, percentage, mark, class average, assignment description). Do Not Print Assignments leaves out the assignment columns.

All assignments (or categories) are selected by default. Uncheck any you don't want to include, or click the – icon to deselect all and then check only the ones you need. The + icon selects all again. When you're done, click Run Report.
