If a Course becomes A-G approved, is it necessary to create a new Course ID (CRS.CN)?
To ensure proper tracking and avoid unintended changes to historical Transcript (HIS) data, it is recommended to create new Courses specifically tagged as meeting the updated CSU/UC requirements. These new Courses can be used for students moving forward, preserving the integrity of prior records.
Note: Updating the UC/CSU A-G requirements for an existing Course in the system will automatically update the Course information for all students who have Transcript (HIS) records with that Course in the current academic year. This means any changes will reflect across all affected records, which may not always align with historical accuracy.
To identify if a Course is in use, the Courses Not Used report is available.
