Successfully created the CERStudent Groups, however the Scheduled Process (API) failed with the following error message:

Error: API Message: The File submitted to the ETS Groups (CERS) API has been flagged as corrupt or malformed AeriesModels.Enums.CERSStudentGroups.CersApiState

Environment

CERS Profiles were successfully created and consolidated into one File for Download but the CERS Website rejected the file as Corrupt or Malformed

  • When this error occurs, it is usually due to duplicate records being included in the consolidated file sent to CERS. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:


    1. Extracted Files: Download the Consolidated File 

    2. Manual Upload: Manually upload the file to the CERS Website and check the Upload Status and the error message received. This will provide information on which row contains the duplicate record 

    3. Identify Duplicate Record: Open the Consolidated File and find the Row from the error message. Note that the consolidated file contains a header row, so the duplicate record will typically be in the row immediately following the Row listed in the error 

    4. Review Profiles: Select each of the Profiles that may include the Staff being duplicated 

    5. Check Profiles: Check your profiles to determine which two profiles include the same staff member, click on the Only Show Selected Teachers option to see Staff included in the Profile

    6. Resolve Duplicates: Decide which profile should retain the staff member and remove the staff member from the other profile

    7. Resubmit Consolidated File: Manually Create a new Consolidated file and upload it to CERS or wait for the overnight processing to see if there are other errors. By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and ensure the scheduled process works correctly
