Why is staff hired after Census Day reporting to CALPADS for Fall 2? 

There are student Course Attendance Records (CAR) that are referencing a section that the staff was assigned to. 

• CAR records are used to create the appropriate SDEM, SASS, CRSE, and SCSE depending on their date range, which includes Census Day.
• If the staff member was added to an existing section as the primary teacher, this will not affect the CAR records and can cause misreporting.
• The proper way to change a primary teacher in Secondary or Elementary With Master scheduling is to create a new section and move the students to the new section. 
• The procedure of moving sections will work for Flex Scheduling.
  •  or Flex Scheduling offers a start and end date for the Primary and CALPADS-reported teachers in the Section Staff Members area of the Master Schedule

Check the student's CAR records for the sections where the incorrect teacher is being reported. If they start before the teacher's start day, the incorrect teacher will be reported to CALPADS.
